Denver based artist/producer StayLoose creates genre breaking electronic music with an alternative edge.
Over 100 Million career streams all began back in 2014 with his debut EP “The City“ EP released via Australia’s forward thinking ,Die High Records. With a sound he was told “would never work” StayLoose quickly began to make a name for himself in the upcoming new wave of electronic music that would later become dubbed as ‘future bass’. Followed by well received remixes for the likes of Doja Cat, Jaymes Young, Rozes, Illenium and a top 8 pick win for ODESZA’s “Say My Name” remix contest on WAVO, helped cement StayLoose’s presence in the growing electronic scene.
Early plugs from industry blogs like Billboard, Pigeons & Planes, Stoney Roads, and THUMP, along with support from well known touring acts such as Bassnectar, Alison Wonderland, Louis The Child, A-Trak and Zed’s Dead also signaled the rise of this budding producer.
StayLoose’s 2016 collaboration with MYRNE, “Call Me”, saw over 1 million streams in under one month of release on Soundcloud. Followed up later that year by a string of singles leading to his 2017 full length-self titled album on Casablanca/Republic Records. Always unbound by genres, the album was a continued departure from his previous productions, leaning into the experimental side of pop/electronic, showcasing his songwriting sensibility and versatility as a true artist/producer with vision.
StayLoose soon introduced his live set up at Lightning In A Bottle festival in Spring of 2017, featuring a live band and the use of more traditional instruments wrapped around the electronic format. The live band set continued through 2017 with other key plays at Electric Forest and Moonrise Festival. After being tapped by well known multiplatinum hit-maker, Ryan Tedder, to assist in his productions for pop artists, StayLoose continued to refine his sound and soon saw his collaborative effort with singer Bryce Fox, titled “Sociopath”, reach over 40M streams across platforms and be added to alternative radio stations KTCL in Denver and LIVE 105 in the Bay area, proving the crossover ability of his music beyond just the electronic realm.
StayLoose released a slew of singles on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records throughout 2018 (including a collaborations with singer Rozes of Chainsmokers fame), along with an collaboration on fellow Denver producer, Said The Sky’s debut album. A small headline tour and a support outing with electronic artist Haywyre soon followed, after which StayLoose would depart from the scene to rediscover himself and his sound. The result would be his sophomore album entitled “Bad Star”, which is due out Fall of 2019. Yet again this new album is a vast departure from his previous sonic ventures. “I spent of a lot of time thinking what I still had to offer the scene. I knew I needed to push myself out of my comfort zone. I knew that it was time to truly reinvent my style and forge a new path for the culture. The amount of work involved was insane”, says the producer. Forever pressing the boundaries, challenging his creativity and contributing to the scene, StayLoose continues to make music in a lane all his own.
